Many arrive at our refuge with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Non-monetary gifts like vouchers, household bedding, and toiletries provide direct, practical support to the women and children in our care.
Women and children often arrive to us not only carrying trauma, but exhausted from the physical and mental effort it took just to reach out for help. Small, everyday essentials like bedding and toiletries offer instant comfort and dignity, while vouchers give women the freedom to choose fresh food, clothe their children, and create small, positive moments together.
– Family from Lanarkshire
These help families cover the essentials – fresh food, school uniforms, and everyday needs – giving mothers the freedom to shop for exactly what their family needs, when they need it.
These allow children to take part in clubs, days out, and fun activities that help them socialise, build confidence, and regain their childhood after traumatic events.
Brand-new duvets, sheets, and pillowcases for beds and cots, so every woman and child can settle into a warm, comfortable bed of their own.
New and unopened toiletries give women and children a small but meaningful sense of comfort and dignity from their very first night with us.
