• Salary: £29,447 -under review
• Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week

MDWA is a dedicated provider of support services for women, children, and young people who have experienced domestic abuse. We are seeking compassionate and driven Women’s Support Workers to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will deliver impactful one-to-one support in our office, refuge and in the community throughout Motherwell district.
As a Women’s Support Worker, your primary mission will be to empower women through a range of engaging and supportive activities, including:
· One-on-One Support: Creating a safe, non-judgemental space for women to build trust and navigate the complexities of domestic abuse and toxic relationships.
· Tailored Programmes: Deliver dedicated support for women with lived experiences of domestic abuse, helping them reclaim their voice, strength and a belief in positive relationships.
· Groupwork: Organise and facilitate group sessions that encourage women to work through their feelings and emotions in a constructive and safe way.
· Refuge: Provide vital safe accommodation to women and their children who are fleeing situations of domestic abuse.
We are a Registered Charity SC022169. Operating as a Scottish Charity for over 20 years we have been delivering vital services for women and children across Motherwell district. MDWA’s vision is of a society, in which women, children and young people are full and equal participants, free from the threat of abuse, violence or injustice.

We’re looking for individuals with:
· A recognised Health & Social Care Qualification listed on the SSSC website.
· Experience of supporting women in a similar setting to Women’s Aid.
· Strong advocacy skills and the ability to liaise with partner agencies.
· A deep understanding of the dynamics and impacts of domestic abuse and Gender-Based violence.
· Flexibility to work a variable work pattern around the working week.
· A valid driving licence and access to transport for travel throughout Motherwell District.

This job description cannot cover every issue or task that may arise within the scope of the post. The post-holder will be expected to carry out other duties from time to time which are broadly consistent with the duties as detailed above.
The post holder will be required to register with SSSC and adhere to the SSSC code of conduct.
To carry out any other duties and responsibilities which may be reasonably determined by the Management Team and/or Board of Directors. The above post is subject to a successful application to the PVG scheme
membership to carry out regulated work with adults and children.

It is essential to hold a full driving licence and have access to a car. Business Insurance is essential and is at your own expense.
